The volleyball club -Hod
Hasharon began to act in 1980 in the courtyard of the house of
Joram Braun, the owner
the Braun Incubators in Hod Hasharon.
Every friday the elder
players from the Sharon Area came and played under the direction of Joram
Braun.
At a certain moment Joram
Braun, beeing asked so by the players,spoke with Jony Almog, at that time a
player with Hapoel Petach Tikva, to train the players in the courtyard..
One year later the club
was registered with the "B" league of Volleyball in Israel and the
club was called "Macabi Braun Chickens Hod Hasharon". The first year
they played only in th Braun courtyard and a year later they moved to the
sporthall of the TL"Y school and played only there.
About In the year 1985
Israel Hilo, a teacher in physical training and volleyball trainer, decided to
create an additional group of young students of Mosinson and they were also
registered with the "B" league, as part of young Macabi Hod
Hasharon.During the years the teams became stronger and the Team of Macabi
Braun Chickens advanced to the Israel second league and the youngerst team to
the"A" league.
In 1991 Yoni Almog and
Israel Hilo decided to establish a volleyball training school together with the
first middle-class players and created the first volleyball class for boys and
girls.all in the 7th grade.
Further every year the
teams and the base became bigger and better.
In 1997 we decided to raise the team to the "A"league and
together with the young players from Hod Hasharon and a year later we became
part of the national league and a year later in 1999 we raised the team to the
First League
Till now,
the club made important achievments, the boys five times championship of
the schools and the young Israel
girls team 3 times volleyball games on the beach. The boys 3 times in
continuity won the championship of the country twice.
The highest
point of the work in Hod Hasharon is the 2007-6-7 season, when we won the Israel
championship for men and boys.
